Guess What These Are

Combination with this particular dipping sauce is available for limited time only ... :) Can you guess what this dipping sauce is?

Thanks everyone for guessing! Almost everyone guessed right.
Yes, Ume (plum) sauce is the correct answer.
I expected more "sweet & sour" kind of taste, but this is much more sour than sweet, so I can't call this my favorite.
Oh well, at least my curiosity was satisfied. :)

  1. Hm, well I did guess first, but then I think I've confirmed my guess as well because I can see the katakana in the background. McDonalds Chicken McNuggets!

  2. I figured it was McNuggets too, the dipping sauce container gave it away. :)

  4. They don't allready have McNuggets in Japan? I thought they did... Cool. well in America there has been this huge transformation of Mc Donalds. After the movie "superSize Me" everyone is ranting about how unhealthy McDonalds is. So they started advertizing new healthy salads and fruit bowls with yogurt and how the McNuggets are all "white meat" now. Which makes me wonder if they were all Dark meat before, or some scarier part of the chicken all together...

  5. I'm pretty sure they had McNuggets in Tokyo about 15 years ago. I remember it being a 5 piece box vs the 6 piece offered in the States.

  6. So am I right in thinking that these must be something else and NOT chicken mc nuggets?

  20. Ume-shiso or shiso-ume dressing is nothing new here actually. Several brands have been on market for quite a while. Some are very good, some are too sour or oily for me.

I haven't tasted that sauce, so I have no idea how it would taste. But as far as it is from econa, it shouldn't be too oily.

    it's my life story
Yep. Thanks for guessing. I don't know why, but it's just one of those limited time only things that they do. Maybe they are testing it, and if it made a great success, they might consider including it to their regular menu...possibly?
