No, I didn't make this, of course. I just needed something to cheer myself up, so I spent 300 yen on this today.

  3. Obachan, you read my mind! I was just wandering around during my lunch break and wondering whether I should splurge on some just-cos-I-want-them chocolates... I think I need to head back downstairs now :)

Hope the cake cheered you up!!!

  5. That looks like just the sort of thing to cheer you up. It's pretty and it looks delicious! I love Japanese sponge cake and would like to find a good recipe for it.

Hey, long time no hear! Well, I don’t want to talk about the taste of this cake, but at least the sight of it was a pleasure to my eyes. ;)

It does look pretty, doesn’t it?
BTW, just from curiosity… do you think that Japanese sponge cakes are lighter than American ones?

  10. I agree with what aloi said. To me, Japanese cake seems lighter and less sweet.

I bought the April 2 issue of Orange Page magazine, which has a recipe for Raspberry Jam Butter Cake. I hope to try it soon.
