Banana Walnut Muffin
It’s raining now. Today’s high was 23 degree Celsius and humidity was 95%, according to a Japanese weather forecast website. Too warm and humid for this part of Japan in April :(
Maybe partly because of this weather, I was so exhausted when I came home today after a long day. I craved for something sweet, and found 2 bananas turning almost brown on my kitchen table. OK, bananas. You are telling me to turn you into banana muffins, right?
How I wished that I was living with someone to cook/bake for me! I thought I wouldn’t be able to stand up again once I sat down, and the mere thought of measuring flour and sugar and beating butter just brought me down. But you know what…. my craving for banana muffins finally won.

OK, now I’m just going to scarf down the muffins (with cold milk), and go to bed early.
I need a rest....
Sweet dream, everyone.
P.S. I added some photos of cherry blossoms at night on my another blog.
Hi obachan,
ReplyDeleteI love banana muffins and yours look so good! I'm going to have to make some soon. I have a few bananas around here somewhere. =)
Get some rest...

> Reid --- Hi! I had a long nice sleep last night and got up feeling so refreshed this morning. Thanks!
ReplyDelete> laurie --- Welcome to my blog :D I put a bit too much bananas because I wanted to use up all the bananas that were turning brown, so the muffins were very moist ;)
> MrsT --- Thanks. I had a very good rest. Now I’m feeling full of energy to face the challenges for another week ;)

Your muffins look sooo good! How do get them to rise so high and yet, not creating too high of a "peak"? Beautiful foodporn indeed!

Glad you're feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteI always make banana bread with my browning bananas. I don't know why I never make muffins. Hmmmm.... :)

> Mia --- Well, the secret is putting a bit too much banana in the batter and let it rise and overflow the paper muffin cup, and turn the muffin around to hide it when taking a photo ;) Yep, that’s exactly what happened.
ReplyDelete> Tea --- Hi! Thanks for visiting! I’m glad that enjoy my blog. I’m not a good cook/baker, but at least I enjoy it : )
> pinkcocoa --- You know, a real craving can make anything possible.
> Annie --- I usually make banana bread, too. But this time I had some leftover muffin cups from last month’s fundraising event, so I went for muffins.

hi Obachan those muffins look sooo good and I'm not much of a muffin person. I believe your muffin pan is different from our North American one which is shallower and wider. I like the shape on yours :)

Hi keona,
ReplyDeleteAcutally, I don't have a muffin pan. My oven is so small and I can't find a muffin pan that's small enough to be in my oven. This time I used paper muffin cups which don't need a muffin pan, but I prefer something reusable.... Those paper muffin cups cost something like 10 for 1 US$.

Looks great as usual, Obachan! Sure wish I could try some.
