How Many Milliliters Are in 1 Cup in Your Country?

This question was originally included at the bottom of my Biwa Tarts entry, but I’m going to keep this at the top of my blog for a while to get some more responses ;)
---
There's a question that I have always wanted to ask people in other countries (except US, UK, Canada and Australia, because for them I already know the answer.) The question is, "How many milliliter(cc)s are in 1cup in your country?" Through the conversions I had to do for foreign recipes in the past, I learned there were differences among countries. In Japan, 1C=200ml. I'm curious about how it is in other countries (except those countries listed above.) Can you help me with this small personal research?

> keona --- Woops! Really? I didn’t know that yours is 230 ml. I thought you had only metric ones (250 ml cups) in Canada. Sorry and thanks for telling me.

> rae --- I tried to show you in this comment the tags I used, but it kept giving me an error, saying that those tags are not acceptable. Can you email me at the address in my profile? I'll email you back and show you how I did.

> Sonya --- Welcome and thanks for your info :D Wow, a new version, 225 ml! Interesting!

Hey Obachan, for the longest time, I didn't realize American and Japanese liquid measuring cups are different. I can't tell you how many scary baked goods came out of that dark period in my life.

By the way, I've posted (on my blog) my method for dealing with expandable posts and how to stop the the "Read More" link from appearing for short posts.

Obachan! Someone on Blogger Forum told me there was something wrong with my coding. God, I got so worried--have you been having any trouble with your blog? I had trouble accessing it until today. Was it my fault. Oh gosh, if it was, I'm SO sorry!

Hi Obachan

In Aust our cups are metric 250ml.

This was a question I never even considered. You mean cups aren't standard? Eek!!! Thanks so much for drawing this to my attention!

And did you know that your Tablespoon is bigger? (See International Liquid Measurements on this site ).

OMG, no I didn't know! We need an international charter of standard measurements!
