Rhubarb! Have you ever had success growing it? How did you use it? Is it common in Japan?
I've described rhubarb to several people here in Japan but nobody seems to know what I'm talking about. I really miss rhubarb...

> MrsT --- Really? Is it common to grow rhubarb over there?
> santos --- I heard it likes cool weather. Mine probably won’t survive this summer, but I’m going to give it a try anyway.
> Amy --- Unfortunately I haven’t had any success yet. I gave it a try for the first time last year, and it didn’t work out. I grew some young plants of rhubarb in my balcony garden until it got really hot and humid in July. Then I brought some of them to my parents’ garden and planted them there in the shade. But we had so many typhoons last year and my parents’ garden was flooded, which washed the young rhubarbs away :( The ones stayed in my balcony garden turned brown because of the heat. I’m going to try the same thing again this year, but not too optimistic about the outcome…
Rhubarb is called “Daiou” in Japanese, BTW. It’s grown in the northern part of Japan, I heard, but not very popular. I guess you can buy rhubarb jam in Japan.
> fish fish --- AGAIN?! How could my blog be so hungry?! I’ll make sure to feed it well. So sorry about the inconvenience.
